公保·都穆曲吉法王在明朝被皇帝封为「佛法国师」，曲吉即是法王之意。第十八世公保都穆曲吉法王，是第十七世噶玛巴大宝法王的本尊法灌顶金刚上师。受四大法子太锡度仁波且恭请，为第十七世大宝法王沐浴除垢穿袍的唯一大圣德。他在给噶玛巴灌顶的日期，见到了原始古佛多杰羌佛加持噶玛巴、古佛当下降世为第三世多杰羌佛的实况，写下了「是无边众生解脱依怙最高处，南无第三世多杰羌佛！」
